ATT offers free USBConnect Force 4G modem with contract

first_imgIt may not get as much attention as some of its competitors, but AT&T‘s 4G LTE network is growing. The number of devices available for it are still a little slim, but AT&T doesn’t want that to stop you from giving it a shot: they’re essentially giving away 4G USB modems with a contract that includes 4G data. The new 4G modem works with Windows PCs and Macs, and supports tri-band HSPA/HSPA+ and quad-band EDGE/GPRS so you get to take advantage of all of the bandwidth AT&T’s network has to offer. The USBConnect Force 4G works as both a 3G/4G modem, but also gives you access to unlimited Wi-Fi at any AT&T hotspot, like those available in Starbucks coffee shops and many airports.AdChoices广告If you’re traveling, the modem supports roaming data services in over 200 countries around the globe. There’s even a microSD card slot expandable to 32GB.The modem will be available starting on July 17th, but if you sign up for a two-year contract with a monthly recurring data plan, you can snag the USBConnect 4G modem for free. For the record, the lowest-tier data plan you can sign up for and still get the modem for free is the 5GB/month $50 DataConnect Plan. If you go past your 5GB, you’ll be charged $10 per GB over.If you prefer your browsing without strings, the modem is also available without a contract. The USBConnect 4G will set you back $90, but you’ll have to pick it up with a pre-paid data plan, which will cost you from $15/day for 100MB, $30/week for 300MB, and $50/month for 1GB of data. It’s clear that AT&T is looking to get people on-board with its 4G network and to drum up a little interest in it. Before you jump at the deal, make sure there’s 4G service in your area from AT&T – their network may be growing, but service is still limited to select major metropolitan areas.Read more at AT&T via HotHardwarelast_img read more
