first_imgGeneva, Switzerland – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazineThe Mechanical Art Devices Gallery in Geneva presents three of Japanese artist Chicara Nagata’s infamously custom-crafted motorcycles: the Chicara Art One ($378,400), Chicara Art Three ($378,400) and Chicara Art Four ($79,800).Chicara launched his custom bike design studio close to 20 years ago. With every bike, he draws, crafts and assembles close to 500 components that he adds to a vintage engine manufactured between 1939 and 1966. The number of pieces and amount of time spent on each machine makes no two alike. His obsession for detail is not surprising as he began as a graphic designer and spent nearly three years completing his first piece of art, Chicara One, which he finished in 2004 after 7,500 hours of work.In 2004, he took his passion one step further and started a series of unique pieces called Chicara Art – One to Four, which garnered six consecutive awards at shows in Belgium, France, and Germany, before receiving global recognition at the AMD Championship (the most recognized custom bike award worldwide). He took first place for Chicara Art One in 2006 and second place the following year with Chicara Art Two, both in the freestyle class of the AMD.www.mbandf.comlast_img read more
