first_imgPOSITION: TheUniversity of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is seeking candidates for theinaugural Jane W. and James E. Moore Nursing Research Professorshipin the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This is a full-timeposition with a concurrent, tenured appointment in the college. Theanticipated start date is August 1, 2021. The Moore Professorshipwas created to recognize and promote the ongoing researchdevelopment of a nurse scientist at a nationally recognizedundergraduate facul  ty/student research intensivecomprehensive university. The named scholar is an experienced nurseeducator with a demonstrated commitment to scholarship and adocumented pattern of research in a designated area. The candidateis at a place in their career trajectory where they wish to expandupon an area or refocus their scholarship to establish a new areaof research. The recipient of the Moore Professorship will begranted time and resources to further develop their own researchprogram, while also promoting scholarship of the faculty andstudents in the department of nursing. This is a tenured facultyposition at the associate or full professor rank, holding anine-month appointment with a summer appointment at 25%. Theappointment as the Moore Professor is a limited term appointment ofthree years. The Moore Professor reports to and works inconsultation with the Chair of the Department of Nursing in theCollege of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing andHealth Sciences offers traditional and BSN-Completion, MSN, and DNPprogram options. Our 800+ undergraduate and graduate studentsengage in collaborative learning in and out of the classroom,conduct research with faculty and translate it into practice, andget hands-on experience through clinicals and practica.Additionally, we have a distance education site located inMarshfield, Wisconsin through which we connect via live interactivetechnology. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A successful candidate will present evidence of the following: PhDin Nursing, Eligibility for RN licensure in WI , Eligibility forrank at the Associate Professor or Professor level, Eligibility fortenure at the time of hire, Evidence of an established program ofresearch and concomitant publications, Evidence of expertise inqualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research modalities,Experience in securing external grant funding, Familiarity withtranslational and/or evidence-based scholarship, Evidence ofworking effectively and collaboratively with faculty and students,Evidence of interprofessional scholarship, teaching or service,Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, andinclusion. PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: Teachingexperience in both undergraduate and graduate programs; evidence ofscholarly and/or research dissemination. RESPONSIBILITIES: TheMoore Professor provides effective oversight, operationalexcellence, and coordination for the following functions: Research,Maintain the research program established before being named theMoore Professor or establish a new research program, Engage ingrant writing for externally funded research utilizing theexpertise in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Developrelationships within the college and across the university,including those involving collaborative research with communityagencies such as Mayo Clinic Health System and Marshfield ClinicHealth System. CAMPUS RESEARCH SUPPORTS: Thecandidate will have access to support staff within the College ofNursing and Health Sciences for assistance with various scholarlyactivities, such as formatting grant submissions. The College alsohas technology support staff to assist the candidate, in thedissemination of scholarship. Funds will also be available tosupport attendance at conferences to present scholarship. Thecandidate will also have access to university resources to supportscholarship through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs(ORSP). ORSP provides funding and administrative support forinternal, external and UW system grants and programs, professionaldevelopment, and sabbatical leave projects. ORSP promotes facultyand academic staff professional development by presenting andmentoring in the areas of grant writing, faculty-student researchcollaboration, and strategic planning for scholarly success.Finally, ORSP sponsors colloquia and celebrations to highlightfaculty and staff research, publications, and grant seeking.
